Inside the new Avatar Land at Animal Kingdom there is a new restaurant called Satu’li Canteen. This is a quick service that offers more than the typical burger and fries.
When you enter the restaurant you have to walk past the seating area to get to the ordering line. It wasn’t very busy when we stopped here but it may be a good idea to split up and have someone grab a table while the other gets the food.
This quick service is also on the MDE app for ordering ahead and then you just pick up your order instead of waiting in the line.
If you order a specialty drink they will give it to you at the counter but fountain drinks are out in the seating area. You will also find silverware, napkins and condiments.
The main attraction here are the create your own bowls. With your choice of protein including tofu, beans or rice and sauce there are many combinations to try.
For those in a group you have the option to get all the bowl ingredients served on a family style tray so you can try lots of combinations.
We tried the Pandoran Sunrise its a mix of tropical juices and melon Powerade, mostly tasted like melon.
The kids cheese quesadilla with veggie chips and grapes.
Kids slow roasted sliced grilled beef bowl with whole grain rice, crunchy veggie slaw and creamy herb dressing on the side. The beef in the adults is severed rare but the kids bowl is served well done.
The beef vs chicken bowls, you can request without the vegetable slaw on top and the sauces come on the side which makes it great if your kids are picky eaters like mine.
For dessert we had to try the blueberry cream cheese mousse. This is such a pretty desert and the flavors were very unique. This is a must try if you eat here.
Everything we tried here was good and we will be back here again for sure.
