The newest ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is family friendly train ride featuring Mickey and Minnie mouse. In 2017 the Great Movie ride was closed for good and this new attraction was built in its place.
Guest board a railway train driven by Goofy and puts guest right in the middle of one of the Mickey cartoon shorts.
The ride is especially fun for the younger kids because it stars the Fab 5 characters. The storyline follows Mickey and Minnie trying to have the perfect picnic together but things go wrong along the way. The ride is on a trackless system and the train cars can go in all different directions which make the ride even more immersive.
During the ride you never know what will happen next like getting caught in a tornado or going over waterfalls. The ride uses surrounding images to make you feel like your in the cartoon so if you get motion sick this ride may not be for you. There are a few spots in the ride that make me a little dizzy but nothing like the 3-D rides.
This ride is so original and so much fun it’s for sure one of our family favorites at Hollywood Studios. The wait can get long so its best to experience first thing in the morning.
