Disney World offers its guest several complimentary forms of transportation to get around from the parks to the resorts. The monorail is a quick and fun way to get around with a view from above the parks.

The monorail brings guest to and from 2 of the theme parks and 3 Disney resorts. The hub for the monorail is the Ticket and Transporation center just outside of the Magic Kingdom, guests can also catch the ferry boat from this area if the monorails are down. There are 3 different lines that run from here to Epcot, Magic Kingdom and the resort loop.

The monorail provides transportation to 3 deluxe resorts with stops at

  • Contemporary
  • Polynesian
  • Grand Floridian

The express monorail takes guest from the TTC to the Magic Kingdom before returning to the TTC again. Make sure you pick the correct line before getting on the monorail as each entrance is easily marked. In order to go from one park to the other you will need to exit and get into a new line. If you are going from Magic Kingdom to Epcot you can simply cross over to the other platform but to go from Epcot to the Magic Kingdom you have to exit 1 ramp and go up the other side.

Each monorail has about a dozen sections with seats and plenty of space to roll in strollers, wheelchairs or electric scooters.

The monorails run beginning 30 minutes before the parks open and stay open until an hour after the last park closes for the night. During slower seasons they also have limited hours so be sure to check the monorail will be operating before making plans. We enjoy taking the monorail between the parks just for the views especially as you circle Future World in Epcot.
