This year’s Halloween Horror nights has 5 designated scare zones located throughout the park.

Horrors of Halloween

Located near the entrance of the park just outside the Minion ride is the main scare zone of the event. This year the icons are based off popular house last year, wicked growth. The pumpkin lord overlooks guest and encourages them to go spread Halloween. Hidden among the pumpkins here is fan favorite lil boo.

Scarecrow: cursed soil

Located near the central park area this scare zone has a creepy farm theme with scarecrows that have come alive. This zone always seems to be the hardest to see at night especially with all the fog but it’s really cool to see the set in the light. This could have been better scare wise but was still fun.

Conjure the dark

Located near the San Fransico area by the Fast and Furious ride this scare zone is headed by an evil sorceress that has brewed up monsters from a dark dimension. This was our least favorite this year, it felt like there wasn’t a lot of effort put into this one. They did have a little show on the stage.

Graveyard: Deadly unrest

This graveyard scare zone has some nice details that can only be noticed during the day including pictures and mementos left on near the graves. Of all the scare zones this year this one was the scariest for the other guest passing through.

Sweet revenge

Over in the New York section is the mildest of all the scare zones. This one has a sort of county fair gone bad theme. The official synopsis from Universal is that the Mayor turned kids into killers through bad candy. There are scare actors dressed in what looks like children’s Halloween costumes along with the mayor himself running amuck.

Not advertised is a 6th scare zone over in the Springfield USA section is just a group of actors with chainsaws. It’s simple but effective in scaring the passersby. The pictures I tried to get turned our too dark to see them, but they all had matching outfits.
