Located about 15 minute from downtown you will find a children’s wonderland. Filled with fun and educational hands on exhibits. There is something here for kids of all ages and a variety of exhibits so everyone will find something they love! Here are just some of the great things to explore.

1.The giant beanstalk

Stretching 3 stories tall, kids love to climb up and down this fun sized beanstalk. There is an entrance/exit on each floor so kids can easily get on and off.

2. Solve the Mystery

Located on the top floor of the main building there is an area dedicated to solving different cases. There are different forensic techniques show like matching shoe prints and hair strands. But the kids love the secret passages and hidden slide the most. Note this slide is for kids 5 and up.

3. The bubble room

If your kid likes playing with bubble this is the room for you. There are machines to make giant bubbles, bubbles of different shapes and even try to make a bubble as tall as you!

4. Art studio

Located on the ground floor below the children’s village area your kids can let their creative side go crazy. My kids love to paint but they also enjoy creating with recycled materials. They also have a 3-D printer that they have demonstrations on. They will store your art for you until you are ready to leave just don’t forget to grab it before you head home.

5. 3-story high twisty slide

We usually save this for the end of our day. There is a staircase located just across from the slide so the kids will go down the slide as many times in a row as we allow.

6. Outdoor garden

This area is only open when the weather is nice and warm. There’s a sandbox, play boat, hopscotch area and my kids favorite a stream that they can play in. They have plenty of seats for the grown-ups to relax while the kids have fun. I also love that they offer a sunscreen dispenser just in-case.

7. the Children’s village

This kid friendly neighborhood is sure to delight. There is a grocery store, vet clinic, pizza place, baby nursery, library, car mechanic, bank and electric company. This area spans 2 stories and lets the kids play the roles of chef, doctor, banker and even mail man. Your kids will love pretending to make pizza or caring for animals in the vet clinic.

8. Water table play

Located as part of the wonder works area there is a water play table where kids can build a dam, play with water wheels and just splash around. They have seats next to a small water fountain for the babies to splash too.

9. Baby play area

Just across from the water play area there is an area for kids under 2. It has baby/toddler friendly ball pit, slide and toy kitchen.

10. Tessla coil

This giant ball of energy is safe to touch and has a fun effect. Kids love watching their hair stand up. You can even get your picture taken which they will turn into a button for you to keep (extra fee).

11. Fishing in the children’s village

Kids can use cane poles with magnets on the end and the pond is filled with pretend fish to catch. Once they catch a fish they can take it to another area of the children’s village and drop it back in and watch the fish “swim” back to the pond via a see through stream.

12. Wonder works aquarium

Inside the wonder works area there is a real aquarium with clown fish and sea anemones, but just around the corner there is a projected aquarium where kids can drawn their own sea creatures, scan them in and then watch them come to life on the wall.

13. Traveling exhibit

Through out the year the Magic house host several traveling exhibits in the main building. The last few have been based on popular PBS shows like Daniel tiger, Clifford the big red dog and currently Dinosaur train. In the past they have also had Eric Carle, fairy tales, magic tree house and all about China.

14. Star-spangled center

Located in the lower level by the birthday party room there are 3 rooms all related to our countries government. There is a court room complete with kid sized judges robes, a smaller version of the oval office where kids can pretend to be the president and a congressional room with stage for pretend debates or bill proposals.

15. Kid construction zone

Just outside near the birthday room area there is a kid friendly construction area. Here kids can draw up construction plans, build a firehouse and more.

The also have a small cafe with sandwiches, salads, soups and snacks. If the weather is nice enough you can enjoy your meal out in the garden.

The Magic house is located in Kirkwood Missouri and is open Tuesday-Sunday. Admission is $11 per person over the age of 1. They do offer a free family night the 3rd Friday of every month.
