Disney has slowly been releasing information about all the changes coming to Epcot over the next few years. This weekend at the D23 expo more details we released about the rezoning of Future World along with new rides and attractions coming to the park.
Epcot is currently split into 2 sections Future World and World Showcase. While World Showcase name will remain the same Future World is now going to be split into 3 sections or neighborhoods as Disney is referring to them. The area where Mission:Space and Test Track call home will be know as World Discovery. The middle section with Spaceship Earth and innovations will be know as World Celebration and the last section with the Land and the Seas with Nemo and friends will be World Nature.
Other changes coming to Future World:
- The ride Spaceship Earth is getting make over with new a story line and narrator.
- Moana theme Journey of Water path near the Seas with Nemo and Friends.
- A new 3 story pavilion in World Celebration will play part in the 4 major Epcot Festivals.
- New Guardians of the Galaxy:Cosmic Rewind coaster set to open in 2021
- Film coming to the Land called “Awesome Planet” opening January 2020
- Interactive pavilion called PLAY! with real and virtual games and experiences.
While World Showcase is not getting quite the overhaul as Future World, it too has a lot of changes.
- New nighttime show called HarmonioUS will debut in 2020.
- Canada Far and Wide will replace the current film in the Canada pavilion in January 2020.
- UK is getting a new Mary Poppins inspired attraction; Cherry Tree Lane.
- France has a Beauty and the Beast sing along debuting January 2020. Ratatouille themed ride opening summer 2020 and a new table/quick service restaurant called La Crêperie de Paris.
- The China Pavilion is also getting a new film called Wondrous China.
